Facilitated peer support groups for the legal profession
Balint Legal brings an innovative and powerful resource for the legal sector aimed at improving client service and enhancing practitioner performance and professional wellbeing.
We provide specialist facilitated peer support and reflective practice groups (Balint groups), adapted for lawyers from a model used successfully by doctors for over 70 years. We are the only organisation in the UK providing Balint groups across the legal profession at all levels of seniority, run by Balint-trained former lawyers.
Balint Legal groups are targeted to help lawyers manage the stress and challenges of day to day legal practice, and better understand and work with their clients.
Our groups provide a purposeful, structured forum in which to discuss, confidentially, the impact of work and the relationships at the core of that work, and to enhance the resilience required for a long and satisfying career in the law.
In short, to be better and happier lawyers.
Benefits of Balint groups include:
Gaining insight into professional relationships and client needs
Increasing capacity to reflect about self and work and better understand interpersonal dynamics
Improving personal and professional resilience
Working more productively by setting aside emotional ‘churn’
Developing emotional and relational intelligence, leading to better client service
Reducing stress, isolation and the risk of burnout
Stronger lawyers make for stronger organisations
